Maker Groups

What are Maker Groups?

Maker Groups are a series of workshops where you’ll learn new maker skills while completing a hands-on project. Each group is lead by several Makerspace staff members over several weeks. At the end of the project you’ll keep whatever you make.

Who is it for?

All UW-Madison students currently enrolled in an engineering program or course (SP 21). Each Maker Group has a member limit. Check the individual workshops below for details.

Is there a cost?

The CoE Shops materials fee ($50) will cover your shop use, but each group may have additional costs for parts and supplies. Check the individual workshops below for details.

When will it happen? 

Once a week, your team will meet virtually or in-person to work on your project. Each group has different start dates and meeting times, check the individual workshops below for dates and details.

Where will it take place?

Depending on content that week, sessions will be hosed virtually or in-person. Group members will have access to the Makerspace to work on the Maker Group project outside of group meeting times.
