Our welding training introduces users to our MIG and TIG welding equipment. Welding is a skill built with hours of practice, so our sessions are designed to give you the tools you need to develop skills sufficient for your project work. Our expert staff are always willing to help!

Intro to MIG Welding
Overview
The Intro to MIG Welding training teaches users how to safely set up and use MIG welders. Only after completing this training will users be allowed to use/reserve the MIG welders.

- Enroll in and attend a MIG Welding session
Intro to MIG Welding
This session will familiarize students with the safe operation and set-up of a MIG welder. Students will also practice fillet, lap, and butt joints.

ECB shop (check in at the window)
Duration
~2 hours
Before you arrive
- Enroll in Intro to MIG Welding
- Wear appropriate clothing as defined by the safety policy. This is where clothing choice really matters! It should not melt or burn easily.
- Arrive on time. Individuals who arrive more than ten minutes late will be unable to participate.

Intro to TIG Welding
Overview
Intro to TIG Welding teaches users how to safely setup and use a TIG welder. Reserving and using the TIG Welders is only allowed after completing this training.

- Enroll in and the TIG Welding training session
TIG Welding Training
Individuals will be taught the basics of TIG welding steel. This will include training in machine set-up, use of filler rod, and fusion welding beads, butt joints, lap joints, and T-welds. Individuals may ask about TIG Welding aluminum – a separate session may be necessary for individuals considering aluminum for substantial project work.
